Navigation Menus

In any menu, you can change the name that appears, by going to the specific page whose name you want to change. Click 'edit' and specify a new name in the 'nav-name' property. You can also create new properties to pick a name specifically for a certain menu (header-nav-name, top-nav-name, or footer-nav-name).

Header Menu

To change the links in the menu in the gold bar at the top of the page, click the 'Variables' button from the Yahoo! store editor buttons. Find the 'header-nav-ids' property. The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs.

Top Flyout Menu

To change the top-level links in the top nav flyout menu, click the 'Variables' button from the Yahoo! store editor buttons. Find the 'top-nav-ids' property. The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs. To make a menu fly out to the left instead of the right (default), change the 'Top-nav-fly-left' property to "Yes". If this property doesn't exist, click the 'New Property' button to create it (type yes/no).

To change the sub-menus (red headings) listed under a top-level category, click on the top-level category page to go to that page. Click the 'edit' button. The sub-menus will be listed in the 'contents' property. If you would like to specify a different set of sub-menus, use the 'top-nav-children' property. To specify how many columns you would like to lay the sub-menus out in, put a postive number in the 'top-nav-columns' property.

To change the sub-sub-menus (brown links with arrows) listed under a sub-menu heading, click on the sub-menu heading to go to that page. Click the 'edit' button. The sub-sub-menus will be listed in the 'contents' property. If you would like to specify a different set of sub-menus, use the 'top-nav-children' property.

Footer Menu

To change the links in the menu in the footer, click the 'Variables' button from the Yahoo! store editor buttons. Find the 'bottom-nav-ids' property. The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs.

Home Page

To make changes to the information displayed on the home page, navigate to that page and click 'edit' from the Yahoo! store editor buttons.

Slideshow & Mini-Banners

You have the option of using either a slideshow or 4 mini-banners. To switch between the two, use the 'Use-slideshow' property. 'Yes' will use the slideshow, 'No' will use the mini-banners.

Slideshow
You have 3 slides set up by default. Each slide has 3 properties (i.e. Slide-image-1, Slide-link-1, Slide-alt-text-1). Use the image property to upload your slide image. If you would like to link the slide to a page use the ID of the page followed by .html (ex: furniture.html) for an internal page or use the full URL for an external page (i.e. http://www.google.com). The alt text field can be used to specify alt tag text for the slide.

Mini-Banners
There are 4 mini-banners programmed. Each banner has 3 properties (i.e. Mini-banner-image-1, Mini-banner-text-1, Mini-banner-link-1). Use the image property to upload your mini-banner image. Use the text property to specify any text you want to appear over the image. To link the banner to a page use the ID of the page followed by .html (ex: furniture.html) for an internal page or use the full URL for an external page (i.e. http://www.google.com).

Article Banner

There is an area below the mini-banners/slideshow for an article banner. Use the 'Article-banner-image' property to upload your image (preferably 924px wide). Use the 'Article-banner-link' property to link the banner to a page by using the ID of the page followed by .html (ex: furniture.html) for an internal page or use the full URL for an external page (i.e. http://www.google.com).

Message Area

There is a text area below the Article Banner area. The title of this area is controlled by the 'Message-title' under 'Varaibles' - not the homepage. However, the actual body text is located on the homepage in the 'message' property.

Button Area

There are spaces for two buttons under the Message area. You can use the 'button-1-image' and 'button-2-image' to upload images and the button-#-link properties to link the buttons to specific pages.

What's New Area

This is controlled by the IDs listed in the 'Specials' property. Alternatively, you can also navigate to individual product pages and click the 'Special' or 'Unspecial' button to add or remove the product from this area. If you would like to change the heading text for this area, go to 'Variables' and change the text in the 'Specials-title' property.

Final Text Area

There is another text area below the What's New area. The title of this area is controlled by the 'Home-text-title'. The body text is controlled by the 'home-text' area. Keep in mind that only the 1st paragraph of text will appear on the page. The rest of the text can be displayed by clicking the "Read More" link.

These properties to change the overall design can be found in the 'Variables' section.

Special Features

Category Pages

Pagination
You Pagination works automatically. There is nothing you need to do to it. You can turn if off globally under 'Variables' by changing 'is-paging' to "No". You can also create the 'is-paging' property on any page and set it to "No" to turn pagination off on that page specifically.

Special Item Text Area
There is a banner area for promotional text below each item listed on category pages. Please note that this only appears below items, not categories. Therefore, if you want all of the elements in a row to line up, you need to have either strictly categories or strictly items listed on a page. Do not show a mix of categories and items on one page.

This feature will first look for the 'free-shipping' property. If it is set to "Yes" the free shipping banner will display. If it is set to "No" the feature will look to see if the 'abstract' property is empty. If there is text in the 'abstract' property, that will be displayed. If the 'abstract' is empty, the default text from the 'global-abstract' property (under 'Variables') will be displayed.

You can use a span tag to emphasis certain text in the property and break tags for line breaks.

Here is an example:
<span>LodgeCraft.com</span><br>
25th Anniversary

Item Pages

Special Imaging Package
The special imaging package displays the image from the 'image' property as the main image. The insets (inset, inset2, inset3, etc.) are displayed as thumbnails below the main image.

The main image has arrows on the left and right to scroll through the thumbnails. If you hover over the main image, a zoom magnifer will appear for zoom functionality. If you click on the main image, the click to enlarge window will pop up showing the main image with the ability to scroll through the thumbnails with left/right arrows.

The thumbnails have arrows on either side to scroll through additional thumbnails. If a thumbnail is clicked, it will replace the main image.

Vendor Link
The 'Vendor-link' property can be used to create a link to a vendor or category. The link will appear to the right of the breadcrumb trail. The property accepts raw text and html.

Example:
See more of this <a href="/flfmission.html">Rustic Log Furniture</a>!

Free Shipping
When the 'free-shipping' property is set to "Yes" the free shipping banner will appear below the Add to Cart button.

Made In
The 'made-in' property can be used to add text about where the product was made. The information will appear in a box below the Add to Cart button or free shipping image. The property accepts raw text and html.

Example:
This item is Made in the USA! <img src="/lib/yhst-129288146819219/flag-usa.png" alt="This log furniture is Made in the USA!" title="This log furniture is Made in the USA!" class="made-in" /><br />Keep American craftspeople working!

Multi Add-to-Cart Feature
This feature allows you to list coordinate items on the product page that the customer can order at the same time as the item they are on. List the IDs of the items you want to appear in the "More From This Collection" box in to the 'contents' property separated by a single space.

Automatic Pricing Feature
You do not need to maintain this feature - it works automatically. It will display a total price near the Add to Cart button that changes dynamically based on the selections the customer makes. It figures in the price of the item, the quantity, any fees for the options selected and any additional pricing for coordinating items added.

Tabbed Content
You have tabs for Description, Construction, Dimensions, Options, Payment/Shipping, and Video. These are controlled by the following properties (in order):

  • 'prod-description'
  • 'prod-construction'
  • 'prod-dimensions'
  • 'prod-options'
  • 'prod-payment'
  • 'prod-video'

  • In-Store Blog

    To Create a New Post

Create a new item page as normal. Use the name and/or headline property as normal for the title of the post. Use the image property for the image. Use the caption field for the text. Change the 'is-blog-post' property to 'Yes.' Add the date to the 'date-posted' property. Go to the blog home page (ID is blog) and click 'edit'. Paste the ID of your newly created post into the 'recent-posts' property (at the beginning) and update the page. Go to the category you want your post to appear in and click 'edit'. Paste the ID of your post into the 'contents' property and update the page.

    To Create a New Category

Create a new item page as normal. Use the name property for the name of the category. Change the 'is-blog-category' property to 'Yes.' Copy the ID of the page and click 'Update'. Go to the blog home page (ID is blog) and click 'edit'. Paste the ID of your newly created category into the Contents property and update the page.

    To Manage Comments

Comments will be emailed to info@lodgecraft.com. The email should include the ID of the page that the comment was submitted on. Go to that page and click edit. Paste the comment into the 'comments' property. Make sure you leave one whole blank line between each comment.

    Notes

It doesn't matter what format you choose for the date, but try to be consistent on each post. Your blog home page will always automatically show the first 5 posts in 'recent-posts.' I can change this number if you desire. Make sure you manage your 'recent-posts' property so that it doesn't get too long (maybe 10-15 posts).
