This blanket pays tribute to the the Iroquois Confederacy, which consists of the Oneida, Seneca, Mohawk, Cayuga, Onondaga, and Tuscarora Nations. The turtle represents the tale of how Skywoman fell to the earth and was saved by Turtle, who assisted with the creation of the world. It features a striking design of a large turtle on white background flanked by circle and semi-circle borders. Pendleton Woolen Mills has woven the symbols and legends of Native American tribes into stunning blankets for the past century.
